  • President Bush Gives Saddam 48 Hours to Leave - President Bush said tonight in a speech from the White House that Saddam Hussein has 48 to leave Iraq or face war with the U.S.

Disarming was a condition for ending the Persian Gulf war. Saddam has defied many UN Security Counsel regulations. Peaceful efforts have failed because we're not dealing with peaceful men. He used weapons of mass destruction against his neighbors and his own people. He aids terrorists. US did nothing to deserve this threat.

Congress has voted overwhelmingly to use force. He's violated resolutions 678 and 687 which authorize the use of force. It's a question of will not authority. Iraq will not disarm as long as Saddam has power. France threatened to veto any resolution the the security counsel would pass. UN Security counsel didn't live up to its responsibility of dealing with terror. Decades of terror will end in 48 hours. Saddam is a lawless man who ruled Iraq. Do not appease murderous dictators.
